If you wish, Journal entries can be created automatically, click on Tools and Setup Options in the General section under Journal Entries. Select YES to any you wish to be automatically created, such as; On Send Email, On Schedule, On List Add, On Print Letter, and On Telephone Call.

Here are different Journal entries that have been generated, notice that the entries have quick view icons to easily identify the type of entries created, in this case an Email, Appointment and a Phone Call entry. See Contact Information Tabs
