Step 4. There are 4 Parameter text boxes and 1 drop down box. Each one is explained below.

Parameter name: Here you will enter a custom field name that you can use when Editing or programming documents in the library. The name cannot have any spaces. Example: Test_Field or TestField, Not Test Field.

Type in: Favorite_Flower or FavoriteFlower

Parameter value: The value here is the name of the field that you will see in green text. Type in: Favorite Flower (You can have spaces here).

Parameter hint: You can type anything here to create a hint pop-up when you hold your mouse over the finished custom field.

Type in: Contacts favorite flower.

Parameter type: When you click in the field that has the blue drop down arrow you get a drop down list of different types of parameters to choose from. For a detailed explanation click here Parameter Type List. For this demonstration we will be using Edit from the drop down list.

Parameter extra: If we were creating a drop down list, here is where we would create the options in the list, such as; Carnation, Rose or Tulip and to do this we would type in that text field: Carnation then type in the Pipe character | <---on your keyboard. The Pipe character is located below your Backspace key when you hold down your shift key. It would look like this when complete: Carnation|Rose|Tulip

But since we are not creating a drop down box we will leave this field blank. See Parameter Type List for detailed instructions for each type.

When finished the Parameter Info window should look like the image below.

Click OK.
