Below is an example of mining your database, adding contacts to a list and processing and running an action plan.
In this example we are going to create and process an Action Plan from Reports.
1. Create a new Contact List Manager list (call it Refinances) and a sub list called "Loans In Excess 6%.
See Plan Processing or Creating New Groups/Fields for instructions on creating a new Contact List Manager List.
Note: You can drag and Drop this newly created group into the Calendar Schedule to schedule this Action.

2. From the Reports section you can view loans in excess of 6% by clicking Loans, then All Loans, then create a filter "Interest Rate is greater then 6" shown in below image.
3. Save as... Loans in excess of 6% and click Apply.

Now all the loans in the WorkCenter Reports view shows only those that the Interest rate is 6% or above.

4. Now to create this field in Reports, right click and choose Save Report As... now in the first drop down box Group: choose Loans then "type" in the next drop down box Name: Loans in excess of 6%, this will create a new field in Reports under Loans.

The new field "Loans In Excess Of 6%" has been created in Reports.

5. For this example I will choose 4 loans to add to the Contact Lists to run an Action Plan, you can use either the Shift key or Ctrl key to select the records that you wish to add and then right click and choose Add Items to List...

6. Choose Refinances from the Group: drop down list and Loans in excess of 6% from the Name: drop down list. This will add these contacts to the Contact List Manager, Group: Refinances.
Note: You can create your own group heading and list name when Processing Action Plans.

7. Now open the Contact List Manager by clicking on the Schedule Tab and click on Group: Refinances. You will notice that the "Loans in excess of 6%" have been added under the the refinances group.

Note: For any reason if you wanted to change the Action Plan to "Internet leads-Refinances" for example, highlight that group as shown in below image and click on the Edit Record/Schedule button
(Black triangle) and change the Action Plan.

The Contact Lists window opens, click on the blue drop-down arrow next to Action Plan: and then choose an Action Plan from the list, such as; "Internet Leads - Refinances" and then click OK.

8. Now click on the Action Plans Tab which opens the Processing and Management Tabs, now under the Management Tab choose "Loan Process - Refinance" by clicking with your mouse on that action plan, this will highlight it blue.

9. Now right click with your mouse button to edit the Action Plan.

The Edit Plan window will open, notice in the below image the Delay column, when you run this plan, the first day after you add contacts to this list, the action plan will print a letter followed one day later with an email.

10. Now to process this Action Plan, click on the Calculate Actions Due button and then click on the Select Items To Process button.

From the Select Items To Process button, you can either choose Select All from the list which will highlight all Actions in the list or Select Items to... which shows additional choices to choose from if you wished to run only these actions -Send Via Email, Print on printer or Schedule on calendar.

11. Now select Process Items, this will process the Action Plan.
In this example I chose letters, after clicking on the Process Items button the letters opened allowing me to pre-view before printing, they were auto populated with the contacts information, and from the pre-view I am able to edit or print the letters. You can also see that I have imported our company logo into the letter.

Once you have previewed and printed these letters, each letter will be added to the journal section of each Contact record. Please note that each of the letters were displayed on the screen because we have set that function in our Action Plan system settings.
These settings can be found under Tools, Setup Options and then the Action Plan Tab.
